Our Story
about us

Spoon & Pork started as a dream shared by Ray and Jay — two friends from the Philippines who came to Los Angeles wanting to share the flavors, culture, and comfort food they grew up with.

What began as a small food truck in 2017 quickly turned into something bigger than we ever imagined. From serving meals on the streets of LA to opening our Silver Lake restaurant in 2019 and later expanding to West LA, the journey brought us opportunities we could have never predicted. Along the way, we were honored to be recognized by LA Weekly, Los Angeles Times, New York Times, Plate Magazine, and the Michelin Guide. These milestones that still feel surreal to us.

But more than the awards or recognition, Spoon & Pork was always about people. It was about sharing a piece of home, building community, and creating a space where food could tell our story.

Today, while Spoon & Pork has closed its doors, our story is far from over.

This experience taught us everything, often the hard way. We started with no roadmap, no investors, and very few connections. We learned by taking risks, making mistakes, figuring things out as we went, and simply refusing to quit. Because of that journey, we know firsthand how difficult it can be to start and run a restaurant or small business.
We’re now open to new opportunities, collaborations, creative projects, pop-ups, consulting, or simply connecting with others in the industry and community. Whether you’re building a restaurant, launching a food concept, or just want to talk shop, we’d love to hear from you.

Thank you to everyone who supported Spoon & Pork over the years. You gave two kids from the Philippines the chance to live out a dream in Los Angeles, and we’ll never take that for granted.
