Our Story

about us

Spoon & Pork Food Truck

Spoon & Pork began as a dream shared by Ray and Jay, two friends who grew up in the Philippines with a deep love for food and culture. After moving to the United States, they set out on a mission: to share the bold, comforting flavors of their childhood with Los Angeles.

​

That dream came to life in 2017 with the launch of their food truck. Fueled by excitement and a passion for Filipino cuisine, they took to the streets of LA — and within just three months, LA Weekly named them Best Food Truck of 2017.

​

In the summer of 2019, they opened their first brick-and-mortar location in Silver Lake, in the heart of LA’s Eastside. That same year, Los Angeles Times and New York Times spotlighted their signature dishes — the Patita and Coco Jack— as among the best of 2019.

​

Their journey didn’t stop there. In 2020, Spoon & Pork was named to the LA Times 101 Best Restaurants list, and Plate Magazine featured Ray and Jay as Chefs to Watch. In 2021, Spoon & Pork earned a spot on the California Michelin Guide with the Michelin Plate distinction, and a second location opened on Sawtelle Blvd in West LA.

Spoon & Pork is more than just a restaurant — it's a celebration of Filipino comfort food reimagined. Drawing inspiration from their roots in the Philippines and their lives in Los Angeles, Ray and Jay craft dishes that are both nostalgic and new.

It’s been an incredible journey so far, and we’re deeply grateful to have you be part of it.
